Ukraine Imposes Energy Limits Amid Freezing Temperatures
Power Restrictions Implemented
Ukraine’s national power grid operator has announced limits on energy supplies for industry and businesses due to increased consumption and power shortages. The restrictions will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Impact of Freezing Weather
Temperatures across much of Ukraine have dropped sharply, reaching around -8°C (17.6°F) over the past weekend. The cold weather has led to a 1.9% increase in power consumption compared to the previous working day.
Ongoing Attacks on Energy Infrastructure
The country’s power grid has suffered repeated damage from missile strikes targeting substations and thermal power plants. These attacks have disrupted energy supplies, making it difficult to meet growing demand.
