Massive Overnight Assault

On the eve of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported that Russia launched 267 drones in an overnight assault. This marks the largest drone attack since the war began.

Ukraine’s Air Defenses Respond

Ukraine’s air force stated that 138 of these drones were intercepted, while 119 were jammed and disappeared from radars. Additionally, Russia fired three ballistic missiles, causing damage in five Ukrainian regions. The attack is part of Russia’s strategy to wear down Ukraine’s air defenses through continuous aerial assaults.

Escalation in Russian Attacks

Surge in Drone and Missile Strikes

In the past week alone, Russia has launched nearly 1,150 attack drones, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types at Ukraine. President Zelenskiy condemned these actions as “aerial terror” and called on Ukraine’s allies to stand united against Russian aggression.

Call for Stronger Global Support

Zelenskiy emphasized that a “just and lasting peace” is achievable only through the unity of Ukraine’s international partners, urging Europe, America, and all allies to strengthen their support.

Growing Tensions Among Ukraine’s Allies

U.S. Policy Shift Causes Concerns

Recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump have added uncertainty to international support for Ukraine. Trump criticized U.S. aid to Ukraine, suggesting that the country should provide resources such as oil and rare earth minerals in return for American assistance.

Push for Ukraine-Russia Negotiations

Trump also suggested that Ukrainian President Zelenskiy should negotiate directly with Russian President Putin to end the war. This stance has caused unease among European allies, who fear a shift in U.S. policy that could weaken Ukraine’s position.

Uncertainty in Diplomatic Efforts

Ukraine Excluded from U.S.-Russia Talks

Adding to Ukraine’s concerns, the country was not invited to recent discussions between U.S. and Russian delegations in Riyadh. The lack of Ukrainian participation in these talks has raised questions about future diplomatic efforts and the cohesion of international support for Ukraine.
