Former Intel CEO Takes on a New Role in Faith-Based Tech

Pat Gelsinger, the former CEO of Intel and VMware, has joined Gloo, a Boulder, Colorado-based technology firm that serves Christian churches and faith groups. In his new role as head of technology and executive chairman, Gelsinger will oversee the company’s AI development, including virtual assistants and chatbots.

AI Tools with a Faith-Based Approach

Gloo is developing AI-powered tools designed to provide “safe search” options, ensuring responses are grounded in the Christian Bible. The company’s mission is to create technology that connects, uplifts, and transforms lives within faith communities.

Gelsinger’s Background in Faith and Technology

A lifelong Christian, Gelsinger has been actively involved in faith-based initiatives, including co-founding Transforming the Bay with Christ (TBC), a coalition focused on expanding church membership in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has served on Gloo’s board as non-executive chairman since 2018.

Gloo’s Growth and AI Investment

Founded in 2013, Gloo has been expanding its technological reach. Last year, the company raised $110 million in growth financing to advance its AI initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to providing innovative solutions for faith-based organizations.

A Vision for Purpose-Driven Technology

Commenting on his new role, Gelsinger emphasized the importance of technology with a meaningful impact:
“Technology has the power to connect, uplift, and transform lives—but only when built with purpose.”
