High-Level Meeting in Jerusalem

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jerusalem to discuss regional security concerns, with a strong focus on Iran. Netanyahu described the meeting as a “very productive discussion,” emphasizing Iran as the most pressing issue.

Joint Stance Against Iran’s Nuclear Program

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. “Israel and America stand shoulder to shoulder in countering the threat of Iran,” Netanyahu stated. He also stressed the need to curb Iran’s influence and aggression across the Middle East.

Rubio echoed this sentiment, saying, “Behind every terrorist group, every act of violence, and every destabilizing activity in the region is Iran.”

Israeli Actions Against Iranian-Backed Forces

Netanyahu highlighted Israel’s military efforts over the past 16 months, targeting Iranian-backed groups. He cited operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and numerous strikes in Syria aimed at preventing Iran from establishing a military front against Israel.

Israel will not permit hostile forces to use Syria as a base of operations against us,” he warned.

Policy Coordination in Gaza

Netanyahu expressed gratitude for U.S. support regarding Israel’s strategy in Gaza. He assured that Israel and the United States were closely coordinating efforts to address the situation in the Palestinian enclave.

Rubio reinforced the stance that Hamas must be dismantled as a military and governing entity. “As long as Hamas remains a force capable of governing or using violence, peace becomes impossible,” he stated.
