Irish Prime Minister Cautious on Business Support Amid US Tariffs
Too Early to Consider Support Measures
Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin stated on Thursday that it was still too soon to consider financial support for businesses affected by U.S. import tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
“It’s somewhat early yet to be talking in terms of supports (for businesses),” Martin said during a press conference.
Expectations of Negotiations
Martin suggested that discussions between Ireland and the United States would likely take place regarding the impact of the tariffs.
“I think this is not the end of the story… I anticipate negotiations, I believe there will be negotiations,” he added.
