China gave Live Inputs to Pakistan during India Conflict, says Indian Army Officer
Heavy Fighting Between Nuclear Rivals
India and Pakistan engaged in missile, drone, and artillery exchanges over four days in May, marking their worst fighting in decades.
- The conflict followed an April attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan.
- Pakistan denied involvement in the attack, but hostilities escalated until a ceasefire was reached.
China Allegedly Provided Real-Time Support
Lieutenant General Rahul Singh, deputy chief of India’s army, stated that Pakistan received live battlefield inputs from China during the conflict.
“When the DGMO-level talks were going on, Pakistan… said that we know that your such and such important vector is primed… he was getting live inputs from China.” – Lt Gen Rahul Singh
Singh described Pakistan as the “front face” in the conflict while China provided “all possible support” in the background.
No Immediate Response from China or Pakistan
The Chinese foreign and defence ministries and Pakistan’s military have not commented on these allegations.
Previously, India had said there was no clear sign of direct Chinese assistance during the conflict.
Context of India-China Tensions
India’s relations with China have been tense since a 2020 border clash led to a four-year military standoff.
Although both countries began de-escalation efforts in October, trust remains low between the neighbours.
Possibility of Satellite and Intelligence Sharing
Questions remain about whether China provided satellite imagery or real-time intelligence to Pakistan.
India’s defence chief had noted that such imagery is commercially available, potentially allowing Pakistan to procure it from China or other sources.
China’s Continued Support for Pakistan
China has:
- Invested heavily in Pakistan’s economy since 2013.
- Supported Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
- Welcomed the May ceasefire after the fighting.
Turkey’s Support to Pakistan During Conflict
Lt Gen Singh also stated that Turkey supported Pakistan by supplying drones and training during the conflict:
- Provided Bayraktar drones and other UAVs.
- Trained Pakistani personnel for their use in operations.
Turkey, which has close ties with Pakistan, expressed solidarity during the conflict, leading to boycotts of Turkish goods and tourism in India.
Awaiting Further Clarification
Turkey’s defence ministry also has not issued a statement on its alleged support during the fighting.
China and Pakistan have not commented on the allegations of live battlefield intelligence sharing.
