A tragic collision between two buses in Bolivia’s western Potosi region has resulted in at least 33 fatalities and multiple injuries, according to local authorities. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on the route between Uyuni and Colchani, with one of the buses en route to a carnival festival.

Osmar Salvatierra, an official from the municipality of Uyuni, confirmed the death toll, stating, “There has been a fatal accident, and it has left us with around 33 confirmed fatalities already.”

Investigation Underway

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will release an official report upon completion.
